Remembrance Day Ceremonies Across the Fraser Valley

November 11 is a day to pause, reflect, and remember the men and women who have served and sacrificed for our freedom. Across the Fraser Valley, communities will gather at cenotaphs, legions, and memorial parks to honour their legacy.

If you’re looking for a place to attend with your family, here’s a list of local ceremonies happening throughout the Valley.


Fort Langley Cenotaph

The historic village of Fort Langley holds one of the region’s most beloved Remembrance Day services. The procession moves along Glover Road toward the cemetery, where wreaths are laid and the Last Post echoes through the trees. Arrive early—parking is limited, and the streets close by 10:00 a.m.

Aldergrove Cenotaph – Royal Canadian Legion Branch #265

Join the community in Aldergrove as veterans, cadets, and families gather for a heartfelt ceremony. The Legion hosts a time of connection afterward, offering a great chance to meet those who have served and thank them in person.

Murrayville Cenotaph

Set within the Murrayville Cemetery, this quiet ceremony is a meaningful way to pause and reflect. Families with children often appreciate the slightly smaller crowd and peaceful surroundings.


Chilliwack – Veterans Memorial Park

A large community gathering in downtown Chilliwack, beginning at Evergreen Hall and continuing to the park. Expect a full program with music, prayers, and the traditional two-minute silence.

Sardis – All Sappers Memorial Park

A deeply rooted local event honouring military engineers and local veterans. The walk from the Legion to the park is family-friendly and a great way for kids to participate respectfully.


Tips for Families Attending

  • Wear your poppy on the left side, close to your heart.
  • Bring warm layers and an umbrella, it’s November in the Valley, after all.
  • Arrive early (10–15 minutes before) to find parking and a good viewing spot.
  • Take a moment after the service to talk with your kids about why we remember.
  • Many local cafés and bakeries will be open nearby, grab a warm drink afterward and share what stood out to you.
